Actress And Journalist Josefina Echánove Dies At 93

“Corazón Salvaje”, “Rubí” and “La Dueña” were some of the telenovelas in which the American-born actress participated.

A few days after 2020 comes to an end, the television industry is once again mourning the sensitive death of  Josefina Echánove .

The lead actress died at the age of 93 today, according to the information released through an official statement, without the cause of her death being revealed so far.

As with other actors, Josefina Echánove belonged to the group of first actors who have stood out in film and television in Mexico.

Born in New York City on July 21, 1928, she was an actress recognized for her great histrionic talent and mother of journalist  Peggy Echánove , singer  María del Sol  and also the first actor  Alonso Echánove .

During her career as a telenovela actress, Josefina Echánove was part of the cast of important productions of the Televisa company, among them “Corazón Salvaje”, “La Dueña”, “Cañaveral de Pasiones” and “Rubí”, among many others.

In addition to a broad career on the small screen, the leading actress also participated in more than 30 feature films, both national and international, such is the case of films such as “Santitos”, “Cabeza de Vaca”, “These Ruins you see”, among many more.

she had the opportunity to work directly with great directors of Mexican cinema such as Emilio el “Indio” Fernández.

In addition to her work and career in film and television acting,  Josefina Echánove  founded the Contemporary Dance group at the University of Guanajuato, a task that led her to act in several works that were performed during the Cervantino Festival.

One of the first media to mourn her death was  Channel 22 , which through a publication on social networks expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the first actress.
