Sally Kellerman Died: What Was Her Cause Of Death?

Sally Kellerman has died at 84 after battling dementia, her son has reported.

American actress Sally Kellerman has died at the age of 84, her son, Jack Krane, told The Hollywood Reporter. The performer, known for her Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated performance in the film “MASH,” died Thursday morning at an assisted-living facility in Woodland Hills after battling dementia, her relative reports.

Born in California in 1937, she was nominated for an Oscar in 1970 in the category of Best Supporting Actress, after her performance in “MASH”, a film directed by Robert Altman of Army Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan. However, her career began well before her, as she made her film debut in 1957 in the film “Mutiny at the Women’s Reformatory”, directed by Edward Bernds.

Likewise, Kellerman is known for her roles in television shows such as “Star Trek”, where she played Dr. Elizabeth Dehner, “Bananza”, “The outer limits”, “The twilight zone”, as well as in films such as “Return to the school” and “O ultimo don Juan”, in addition to the aforementioned. In “Back to School”, the actress gave life to Diane Turner, a wonderful literature teacher, free-spirited and in love.

As in “MASH”, Kellerman and Robert Altman collaborated again for films such as “Brewster McCLoud” (1970), “The player” (1992) and “Pret-a-Porter” (1994), as well as in 1997 in an episode of “Gun,” an ABC anthology series she produced.

She also had some role in the theater, highlighting her interpretation in 1966 in the stage production of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, by Truman Capote, starring Richard Chamberlain and Mary Tyler Moore. “I love acting, but my fantasy is to have a couple of babies and make an album a year, and maybe a movie a year too. I don’t want to not do either of them,” said the actress.
