I was going to eat with some friends when the tragedy happened. A tragedy that has been slow to be confirmed because it is very difficult to find the body. Thai actress Nida Patcharaweeraphong, better known as Tangmo Nida, has died after falling from a speedboat into the Chao Phraya River, the longest and one of the two most important rivers in her native country.

The events occurred on February 24 in the capital, Bangkok, when the interpreter and model, who was also very successful in her country and on social networks (on Instagram she was followed by 1.6 million people) went to a restaurant with some friends to eat all together. They did it by boat, a common method of transportation in the area.

According to some reports (quoted from the Telecinco website), the actress, who was 37 years old, was traveling in the back of the boat, sitting down. And at one point she had to fall into the water. However, the causes of this fall are not yet resolved. Minutes later, her friends turned around and noticed Nida’s absence, beginning a search that would last over time.

Her friends, still on board the motorboat, were looking for her for about 20 minutes, without obtaining results, at which point they decided to contact the local authorities, who sent a team of 30 divers to comb the entire area of ​​the river that they traveled in the ship.

After two days of intense search, it was finally the interpreter’s brother, Dais Dejjab, who decided to join the rescue team, being himself the person who found “something floating” in the water and who was later identified as the body without life of her sister, as explained by The New York Post .

In the clip shared by Thairath, on the evening of February 24, the boat Tangmo and a group of friends rented ran in the direction of Thewet pier.

One remarkable moment is the white shadow that is believed to be Tangmo Nida wearing white clothes falling into the water. Worth mentioning, the actress is said to jump into the water and run away from something, not a simple fall.

One detail that is noted and controversial is that after Tangmo fell into the river, the boat suddenly increased speed and showed signs of being jerked. Whether this is the detail that made the actress fall off the boat or not.

“The pain that we are all going through in the family is unbearable. We loved our sister very much and she brought us so much happiness …”, assured Dejjab, who wanted to thank “the effort of all” those who have helped retrieve Nida’s corpse. “Today I have come to take her back home”, he has finished her.

For her part, Panida Siriyuthyothin, mother of the actress, cannot believe what happened given how good a swimmer her daughter was. “Before the night she disappeared, I suddenly thought of her. I wanted to call her. When I heard the news I couldn’t believe it. I was still hoping it wasn’t her,” She confessed.

The doctors who performed the autopsy confirmed that she drowned and that the body had a very deep cut on the left leg that could have been caused by the ship’s propeller.  One of the city’s police chiefs, Paisarn Wongwatcharamongkol, explained that the owner of the speedboat could face charges for allegedly operating the boat with an expired license, as the driver did not have a license. “Both may face negligence claims, but nothing has been formalized or filed for now,” she explained.
