One of the greatest legends of British drum and bass died. The information about the artist’s death shocked many famous music stars. Skibadee said goodbye, among others Goldie, Tinie Tempah, Lisa Maffia, or DJ Fresh.
The high figure of the jungle and drum n’bass, MC Skibadee died at the age of 47. It was his family who announced the sad news this Sunday, February 27 in a press release.
Yesterday confirmation of the death of the legend of jungle music MC Skibadee, aka Alphonso Bondzie, arrived.
The artist was 54 years old and the death was confirmed by his family.
At the moment, the cause of the musician’s death has not yet been disclosed. To communicate the death of Skibadee was the eldest son with a post published on social media – at the edge of which he asked for some privacy for the family, shaken by mourning: “Hello everyone, as the firstborn of Alphonso, unfortunately, I come with sad news to say that Skibadee is dead ”.

After the confirmation of Skibadee’s death, the tributes and tributes to this drum and bass legend (of a genre that preceded d’n’b) poured onto the Internet: “No words. RIP Skibadee. The scene has lost a legend today ”writes a fan.
While another adds, “Skibadee was the greatest jungle MC of all time, thank you for blessing my childhood with some amazing memories.”
Obviously, also from the world of music (and especially from colleagues who shared the “jungle” experience with him) messages of condolence and pain arrived.
These are the words of DJ Fresh, author of a track that was very successful just over a decade ago: “I can’t believe I’m writing this: RIP Skibadee. His contribution to Drum and Bass can never be matched ”.

Producer High Contrast also brought his message of condolence: “Very sad to know that MC Skibadee is dead. He was a decisive voice in the dnb ”.
MC Skibadee had become a pioneer of drum and bass when in 1997 (and in 1997 it is the video of the live that we propose in the queue that sees him among the protagonists) he had the brilliant idea of adding a drum and bass rhythm to a song hip hop, thus creating a double-time effect.
His career, however, had begun four years before his stunt on City Sound Radio.
Since then, for him, numerous awards – such as the ‘Best Drum and Bass MC’.
