Johnny Solinger Died

Former Skid Row vocalist Johnny Solinger has passed away at age 55. The sad news has been confirmed by the band itself. “We are saddened to hear the news of our brother Johnny Solinger. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans. Good luck Singo. Say hello to Scrappy for us. Much love, ” have signed Rachel Bolan, ZP Theart, Snake Sabo, Rob Hammersmith, and Scotti Hill.

Johnny Solinger announced in early May that he suffered from liver failure and had been hospitalized for a month. The musician made his situation public because he needed help due to the lack of health insurance. He asked for support in organizing a fundraising campaign. At that time he was following a treatment based on drugs and different medical care.

Solinger was a member of Skid Row from 1999 to 2015 and voiced the albums Thickskin (2003) and Revolutions Per Minute (2006), as well as the EPs United World Rebellion and Rise Of The Damnation Army.

Statement was written by Johnny Solinger in early May:

“It is with great sadness that I must let everyone know what is happening with me and my health. I was hospitalized for the last month. I was diagnosed with liver failure. And the prognosis is not so good. Like most musicians, I do not have health insurance and it is very difficult to get adequate care without it. I am currently on at least seven different medications and need to have the fluid that collects in my abdomen drained every other day. I have lost a lot of strength and will also need the help of physical therapy. At the moment, I am thinking of organizing some kind of fundraiser to help pay for the medical bills and palliative help that I will need in the coming months. I kindly ask those of you who could help organize this to step forward.

I appreciate and want you all to keep me in your thoughts and send me all the healing vibrations you can, but I get tired easily, so I will ask you not to call or text me unless absolutely necessary. But please, if you can help in this difficult time, I will appreciate it with all my heart.

I love you all. I will post a link where you can donate very soon, but I wanted to update you on my condition ”.
