Campbell had a prominent role in Election as the Omaha (Nebraska) high school student who stands in school elections with the aim of dismantling the student government if elected, to the horror of the protagonist Tracy Flick (Reese Witherspoon). Her election speech is one of the most memorable moments in the Alexander Payne film.
Jessica Campbell’s career in the acting world was very brief. Before working on Election, she had made her debut in the telefilm For the Sake of Children (1992) with Sarah Jessica Parker. Later, it was only seen in a couple of episodes of the cult series Freaks and Geeks (2000) and in the adaptation of The Safety of Objects released in 2001.
Before long, Campbell left the world of acting to earn a living as a naturopath.
