Bobby Rydell, an American singer and actor, popularly known as “The Philadelphia Teen Idol,” has left this eternal world. He passed away on 5th April 2022. Bobby Rydell passed away two weeks before his 80th birthday.
Previously, in 2016 Rydell went through double-organ transplant surgery. The surgery took place at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Moreover, the surgery was done to replace his Liver and kidney.
Furthermore, Assiah went through her transplant surgery at A.I. duPont Hospital. The details were that Rydell got 75 percent of the organ while Assiah received the remaining 25 percent.
Before his discharge, he spent a week in the hospital.
The cause of death was pneumonia, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. We are trying to reveal the details regarding his cause of death and obituary. His family has not released any news regarding this.
He was born to his beloved parents, named Jennie and Adrio “AL” Ridarelli, in Philadelphia. Bobby Rydell was a member of numerous bands in Philadelphia. He took the stage as an amazing and professional drummer at the age of nine.
Along with that, he was a winner of a talent contest on the TV show Paul Whiteman’s TV Teen Club. Moreover, he acquired a recording contract with Cameo Records. He also made it to the top charts in the year 1959. His first hit was “Kissin’ Time.” His recording career earned him 34 top 40 hits, and he was also featured in the top 5 artists in his time.
His second hit, “We Got Love,” became the first million-album seller, and it earned him gold disc status.
Bobby was the 2019 East Coast Music Hall of Fame lifetime achievement award recipient.
His death news was shared in a tweet by a famous Twitter handle, @HughE_Dillon; he stated, “Condolences to Bobby Rydell’s family and friends. The Philadelphia teen idol singer passed away today, just shy of his 80th birthday 4/26. Here he is in 2015 @Philalliance Walk of Fame induction with legends @dionnewarwick @JerryBlavat and wife Diana Rydell.”
Bobby Rydell was married to his first wife, Camille Quattrone Ridarelli. She passed away in the year in 2003. However, he remarried in the year 2009 to Linda Hoffman. He is survived by his wife, Linda and a daughter Jennifer Ridarelli and son Robert Ridarelli.
He was considered as a legend. Also, he has had a musical career for the last 60 years. The famous pop singer had a net worth of $10 million.
