The former participant of the second season of “The X Factor”, Freddie Combs, died of kidney failure at the age of 49, according to his wife revealed to TMZ.

This Thursday it was announced that the singer, who weighed 426 kilos, died last week from kidney problems and not from Covid-19, as had been rumored, his wife Kay clarified to the American media.

It was detailed that Freddie died in a Florida hospital, surrounded by his family, friends, and loved ones.

The interpreter’s wife said that one day before she died she knew that the man with whom she shared 25 years of marriage had few hours to live, but she was happy to be by his side even in his last moments.

“I am so grateful for being his wife for 25 years and for being his best friend,” he said.

Little is known about Freddie Combs, but according to information published by the US media, before participating in “The X Factor”, for eleven years he was struggling to lose weight, as he had a near-death experience in the last.

Kay told TMZ that her husband weighed 426 kilos when he auditioned on reality television and that he became one of the favorites of the public, but decided to make changes in his life that led him to lose 136 kilograms, remaining with a peso of 244 kilos.

Encouraged by striving for good health, Freddie continued with his daily routine and diet, reaching a weight of 174 kilos.

During his audition, Combs performed the song “Wind Beneath My Wings” , which he dedicated to his wife Kay.
