Colombian television is in mourning. The actor Andrés Restrepo died of COVID-19 last Sunday, January 23 in Medellín, after spending several weeks in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Andrés, son of Fabio Restrepo, died at the age of 35. He worked as an actor in several Colombian productions such as ‘Escobar, the patron of evil’, ‘La Reina del Flow’, ‘Without breasts there is no paradise, ‘The Selection 2″, among others.
Although the Colombian actor had prominent roles, his career also focused on being an independent producer. The news of his death was confirmed by Yeison Henao, a relative of the artist, causing deep sadness among his family and friends.
Through social networks, the death of Colombian actor and producer Andrés Restrepo was announced. The artist died of COVID-19, last Sunday, January 23, at a clinic in Medellín.
“’Independent, talented producer, cousin of mine dying from COVID. Andrés Restrepo, great producer and actor. His legacy will be on the screen forever. I appreciate his support in cultural management. Strength to my uncle’s family,” Yeison Henao, a relative of the artist, wrote on Twitter.
After the news of his death was announced, friends and relatives of Andrés Restrepo reacted on social networks by dedicating emotional messages to the Colombian actor and producer.
”Covid-19 has not gone away, it continues to attack and cause pain in thousands of families. Today actor Andrés Restrepo passed away in Antioquia. His father, Fabio Restrepo, is still in the ICU (stable). Prayer and a lot of strength for his family and friends,” journalist Hernán Muñoz wrote.
Among his friends and colleagues, Felipe Giraldo remembered Andrés, who studied drama in Spain, as a wonderful being who was a great reference for his father and brothers, in addition to describing him as a talented actor and producer.
“Leave only joy and a great legacy of talent and expressiveness. I have known Andrés for ten years, we talked a lot, he was a brother to me, he was a wonderful being and a great actor and producer, ”Felipe Giraldo wrote on his social networks.
According to Colombian media reports, this year the film “Sara” will be released, shot in Medellín, in which Andrés Restrepo participated.
Regarding the evolution of the health of Fabio Restrepo, father of Andrés, who has been in an ICU since December 23, his son Mauricio Restrepo reported that he is evolving positively.
Carlos Ochoa, who works at Teleantioquia, was the one who gave more details about Fabio Restrepo’s health when he was admitted to a clinic in Medellín.
“He entered the Sagrado Corazón Clinic in Medellín on December 23 due to low blood sugar. The artist, who is diabetic and hypertensive, had a health complication due to a bacterium and is now in intensive care. In addition, he has advanced pneumonia and is positive for covid-19 ″, he wrote on his social networks.
